BSI, 새로운 건조환경품질표준 인증 획득

비즈니스 표준 및 개선 회사인 BSI는 건조 환경 분야의 품질 개선을 지원할 수 있는 획기적인 스킴에 대한 인증을 획득한 최초의 조직을 발표하였습니다.

VolkerWessels UK의 일부인 엔지니어링 및 건설 회사 VolkerStevin 및 VolkerFitzpatrick은 BS 99001 품질 관리 시스템에 대한 인증을 획득했습니다. 이 새로운 인증 스킴은 해당 분야에서 많이 발견되는 것으로 보고된 품질 관리 문제를 해결하기 위해 구축된 환경을 위해 특별히 설계되었습니다.

조직의 경영 시스템에 대한 심층적인 심사를 통하여 이 스킴의 요구 사항이 충족되었는지 확인하였습니다. 이 표준은 건조 환경 산업에만 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 2022년 4월 영국 법이 된 새로운 건축 안전법의 요건을 해당 분야가 이행할 수 있도록 지원하기 위해 개발되었습니다.

2022년 7월에 발행된 BS 99001은 ISO 9001 품질 관리 시스템을 기반으로 구축되었으며, 여러 조직의 프로젝트 기반 작업 방식에서의 특정 문제 영역을 해결하기 위한 추가적인 부문별 경영 시스템 요구 사항을 제공합니다. 안전 문제를 야기할 수 있는 원인으로는 품질보다 비용을 우선시하는 것과 필요한 단계에서 품질을 효과적으로 점검하기 위한 할당된 자원이 부족한 문제가 있습니다.

BSI announces first clients to achieve certification to new Built Environment quality standard

BSI, the business standards and improvement company, today announces the first organization to have achieved certification to a landmark scheme which can support improvement in quality for the built environment sector.

The engineering and construction companies VolkerStevin and VolkerFitzpatrick, which are part of VolkerWessels UK, achieved certification against BS 99001 Quality Management Systems in the Built Environment. The new certification scheme was designed specifically for the built environment to address quality management issues that are reported to be prevalent in the sector.

In-depth audits of the organizations’ management systems were undertaken to confirm that the requirements of the scheme had been met. The standard focuses solely on the built environment industry and was developed to help the sector implement the requirements of the new Building Safety Act, which became UK law in April 2022.

Published in July 2022, BS 99001 builds on ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems with additional sector-specific management system requirements intended to tackle specific areas of concern in a multi-organizational, project-based way of working. The areas that can give rise to safety concerns include cost being put above quality and insufficient resource allocated to ensure quality is checked effectively at required stages.
